Maintaining a Positive Attitude in a Bad Situation

How many times have you been in a situation where things just weren’t going right?  You’re hoping and believing for something to change but it’s not happening.  Its times like these that we must have the mindset of Joseph.  We know from the book of Genesis that Joseph definitely faced horrible trials.  Not only was he sold into slavery by his own brothers, but he persevered in prison for 13 years!  Genesis 39:20 NIV Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined.

Even though Joseph was falsely accused and imprisoned the Lord still showed him favor.  Why, because Joseph believed for it.  At our darkest hour we have to stand in faith that God will deliver, and until He does we must maintain a positive attitude.  God wants to show you favor but you have to be patient and believe.

I think the whole point of the story of Joseph is having perseverance.  Let’s face it, our time is not God’s time and if we are impatient then things are not going to happen.  But, when we keep a good attitude the Lord will show favor.  Genesis 39:2 AMP But the Lord was with Joseph, and he [though a slave] was a successful and prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

If you find that God has called you to do something but man does not acknowledge your accomplishments, don’t worry about it.  It is God you are trying to please not the world.  Just keep on keeping on and do what you believe the Lord wants.  Your belief and your faith is what must carry through each assignment, whether good or bad.  In the end you will find the favor of God upon you because you obeyed and persevered.  Just remember, no matter what you’re currently facing as long as you maintain a good attitude and work to please God You Will come out victorious.
